This was my first ever blood transfusion. I went on to get a total of six units during my treatment. One in four will require a blood transfusion in their lifetime. I certainly never thought I would ever need one, issuing units of blood as a profession rather than receiving them. I will always regret not donating when I could. Please contribute, you don’t realize who will benefit greatly from a couple of hours of your time.
