Lindi Skin Cooler Pad

When I was at the Christine Clinton Touch Therapy for Cancer Care (read my experience here), Christine gave me a piece of a Cooler roll to bring home with me and wow, I only wish I had it a few months earlier. The hot flushes from the massive hormonal changes were probably my worst side effect from the chemo, other than the obvious nausea but I won’t bore you with that right now. They had stopped by the time I attended the Touch Therapy seminar but nonetheless I was so grateful when she introduced me to the product.

Lindi Skin Coller Roll is a hydro- gel dressing made primarily of water with an infusion of Aloe Vera and Green Tea. When applied to dry, sore and irritable skin resulting from radiation, it creates a moist and soothing environment that promotes healing. It is intensely cooling and calming, which aids in the restoration of the damaged cells. I never had radiation so I never had to deal with aggravated skin, thank god, so for me I found the cooling property so beneficial. During my treatment I was extremely uncomfortable a lot of the time, suffering up to ten hot flushes daily. The windows would be open, the fans blowing in my direction. If only I had the cooling roll to place on my chest or stomach, to take away the intense heat and give me a little relief. I can’t describe how comforting the chilling gel feels against your skin, drawing away any heat. The gel adheres to the skin without leaving any marks or sticking so there is little maintenance with it.

Lindi Skin provides two options; the Cooler Roll is four inches wide and sixty cm long which can be cut as required. It can be applied to the skin for 20-45 minutes. This costs €45 and lasts for a long time. Alternatively, the skin pad is a four x seven inch reusable Aloe Vera pad that costs €30. It can be reused once washed in cool water and placed in the fridge. Whatever suits you best, regardless they both provide a nourishing method of repairing burnt damaged skin or simply a way to cool down. Being too hot doesn’t have to be a complaint anymore 😉
